I’m pleased to announce we have begun work on another research project. This one is funded by the Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology Directorate. The project is the PLC Passive Security Event Log Generator, which we will be calling Quickdraw.
Quickdraw will be an application running on Windows or Linux that will passively monitor traffic to and from PLC’s and other field devices and create the security log events that field devices should, but don’t, generate. This initial effort will have 50 different security events for ten different field devices and be easily extensible. The results will be made available to Digital Bond site subscribers, similar to Bandolier, Portaledge and other tools.If you want a more detailed description check out the Quickdraw entry in SCADApedia.
