Hugo Teso of n.runs had a detailed presentation on aircraft communications and systems and how to hack them at Hack-In-The-Box Amsterdam. Aviation companies were quick to disagree with Teso’s contentions. Outside our area of expertise so we can’t comment on the reality or impact of this.
The US Dept of Defense is requesting an additional $4.7 billion for “cyberspace operations”.
Tenable Security added some additional ICS intelligence to their Passive Vulnerability Scanner (PVS). It now understands the BACnet protocol and adds detection of attempts to exploit some of the Schneider vulns.
Another defection from DHS. This week it is Jane Holl Lute, the Deputy Secretary of DHS and a key player in the recent Presidential Executive Order. She was there four years; twice the DHS average for management involved in cyber.
